LETTER: UKIP will continue to make progress

After a long drawn out election campaign, I would like to thank supporters who put in so much effort, along with other candidates for running a civilised campaign.

I enjoyed my time on the council and in particular the last two years, when I was able to fight for residents’ interests and value for money, without constraint.

Sadly, promises of ‘Localism’ remain to be delivered.

I wish the best of luck to the new council and to my colleagues in the party, who will continue their journey to base camp in 2020.

UKIP increased its share of the Horsham Parliamentary vote from five per cent (in 2010) to 14 per cent, moving up from fourth to second place.

It will not take another 3.8m votes to elect the next UKIP MP and we shall continue to increase the number of UKIP councillors across the UK - until a breakthrough is achieved, or until the UK is once again a free and sovereign nation.

In the meantime, my best wishes to all of those voters who supported us in the Parliamentary and in the local elections.

My thanks to you all.

ROGER ARTHUR

UKIP parliamentary candidate for Horsham and district council candidate for Roffey South in 2015 elections, Melrose Place, Storrington
