LETTER: Generous support for Lions projects

On Saturday August 10, with the kind permission of Horsham District Council, 12 members of Horsham Lions Club, plus a further seven volunteers from our ‘Friends of Horsham Lions’, spent a total of four hours seeking donations in the Carfax, Piries Place and other locations in the centre of Horsham.

During this time and thanks to the generosity of the people of Horsham and indeed visitors to our town on that day we raised £400, which in these difficult economic times is extremely good.

I can assure you that your donation will go some way towards supporting Horsham Lions Projects for local people, that include our Youth Project to help local youth and local youth organisations undertake their own projects and to assist in providing Christmas Parcels for needy families of Horsham as well as the elderly of our town. Last Christmas we helped over 70 individuals and families.

As President of Horsham Lions this year my motto is ‘Support your Local Community… Join your Local Lions Club’.
