It would be so nice to hear the truth about this regeneration

IN response to Les Chapman (Gazette letters, October 9) about regeneration, work and expense, Greencore is behind the proposed North Littlehampton regeneration.

We do not need the road driven behind Highdown Drive.

If access is needed to the new Academy, then run it from the roundabout at Fitzalan Road into the school and stop there.

As for the bridge over the railway, we already have one just past The Body Shop on the Rustington bypass.

Have the northbound road as a spur from there, if you must.

Greencore and Arun District Council will have you believe that all their plans are at very early planning stages.

Just for once it would be so nice to hear the truth, especially from our councillors, who promise us everything but deliver nothing when the going gets tough, as they mustn't have any conflict of interest.

If Littlehampton needs regeneration, then look north to areas such as Lincoln, which has fantastic retail parks and one of the best city centres in the country, with housing development kept at minimum.

David W. Thomas,

Oakcroft Gardens,

Littlehampton
