I withdraw previous comments

FOLLOWING my letter (Bexhill Observer, March 18) regarding the new Bexhill High School, I received an invitation from Mr Conn, the principal, for a tour of the school which I was delighted to accept and, I have to say, was pleasantly surprised to see the excellent facilities provided.

There seemed to be a very happy atmosphere and something for everyone if they care to take advantage of it.

I was able to talk to teachers and pupils at random without restriction. I still have a slight problem with the class sizes but not nearly as bad as I thought and the school appears to be working hard to overcome any teething problems.

I understand the BBC’s Inside Out team spent three days filming but this only resulted in a few minutes actually shown in the programme, which did not give me the full picture and unfortunately, I based my original mistaken views on this.

I am pleased to withdraw my previous comments and would be happy for a child of mine to attend this school.

Also I would like to thank Mr Conn for his patience and courtesy in showing me around.
