Different funding

IN response to the Whispering Smith column (Gazette, June 7), comparing Littlehampton Museum and Bognor Museum, I’d like to point out that all museums are funded differently, and no two are alike.

I’ve been a regular visitor to Littlehampton Museum since it was originally located in the library, and when, as a child, I was fascinated by the collection of ancient artefacts and natural history.

Now at Manor House, the museum also features regularly-changing exhibitions, including evocative displays of the town’s social history, paintings from the museum’s own excellent archives, and work by local artists (the most recent event being the hugely popular “Open” exhibition).

Other activities include community workshops for children, and two family history sessions, which are scheduled for the autumn.

Details are available in the 2012 programme.

Please pay a visit to this gem in Littlehampton’s crown, and see for yourself!
