FURTHER to the correspondence about the serious flooding in Sea Road, Littlehampton, I had already reported this to the county council’s area highway manager.
He has reported to me that there are two drainage systems nearby, both old, one owned by Arun District Council, and one by Southern Water. Preliminary investigations have shown blockage, but whether this is by sand or other debris, or by tree roots has yet to be established.
High-pressure jetting is to be carried out, followed by CCTV camera investigation to see what remedial works may be required.

Hide AdI will keep pressing the case until it is put right, as the road safety and hazard to pedestrians and cyclists is totally unacceptable.
