At 1.30pm, the Fayre will be declared officially open by the High Sheriff of West Sussex, Mrs Denise Patterson. Visitors will then be able to browse a range of stalls selling local produce, including everything from homemade chutneys to jams and delicious cakes, as well as enjoying traditional fayre games.

Younger visitors will be able to head to the special Children’s Corner to play and local performer and musician, Kim Bonser, will be treating visitors to live music performances throughout the afternoon. Refreshments will also be available throughout the day.

Heather Rogers, Manager at Care South’s Sussexdown care home, said: “We hope to welcome as many people as possible into our lovely gardens for this exciting event. Our residents really enjoy the Summer Fayre and we’d like to say a big thank you to the Friends of Sussexdown for all their help and generosity in organising the event and their continued support throughout the year. The Residents’ Amenity Fund is a fantastic cause that allows us to ensure our residents have the best experiences through an exciting activities programme.”

The Sussexdown Summer Fayre is organised by the Friends of Sussexdown Committee, who raise money to provide entertainment for residents, including live music, day trips out, and Christmas and birthday presents for the residents of Sussexdown. All proceeds raised by the Fayre will go towards the Residents’ Amenity Fund.
