New one-wayroad system

One of the shortest local one-way traffic systems has come into operation in Aldwick.

Motorists should now only drive along the Coastguards Parade of local shops from its junction with Barrack Lane at the south end to its junction with The Drive.

The restriction came into force on Monday, April 23.

It has been brought in by West Sussex County Council to cut the risk of minor collisions between drivers using the narrow carriageway in both directions.

Coastguards Parade provides access to the eight shops and businesses, with flats above, located off Barrack Lane.

The council's intentions were reported in the Observer last August.
