MUSIC: Chance to harmonise and get goose bumps

Newcomers are being sought to enjoy the sound of music with a North Bersted-based chorus group.

The Arun Sounds is seeking more ladies to enjoy the fun of singing and producing four-part harmony.

Press officer Marilyn Collins said: "It takes time and effort to produce that sound but the end result gives you goose bumps.

"Our repertoire includes old-time classics, modern songs, ballads and upbeat numbers.

"We are very active in the community and are often asked to sing at social events, retirement homes, hospices, special birthday celebrations, garden fetes, wedding receptions and church and charity events to name just a few."

The ladies' barbership chorus was formed in 1981.

It has achieved considerable national success and its 23 current members would like more singers to join them.

"Anyone with a love of music and close harmony would feel very much at home in our chorus and, at the same time, make 23 new friends," explained Marilyn.

"You don't need to be able to read music '“ just enjoy the pleasure of singing."
