MP MOVES OFFICE

LEWES MP Norman Baker this week moved his constituency office from Lewes High Street to the old library on the corner of Albion Street and East Street.

Said Mr Baker: 'My office has been at 204 High Street for almost nine years now - ever since my election.

'In that time the amount of casework I have to deal with has grown enormously, and I am now having to employ four case workers to keep up.

'The office at 204 is simply no longer able to cope and when case workers start having to work in the garden, it is time to move.

'My wife and I also want this bit of our house back!

'The new office provides a much more pleasant working environment. It is also more accessible for the disabled than my old office was.

'Happily, the local LibDems have also separately taken a space in the building, so that should improve my ability to liaise with my council colleagues and others and so provide a better service for constituents.'

Mr Baker's Lewes surgeries will now be at the new address of 23 East Street, Lewes, BN7 2LJ, where letters can also be sent.

The telephone, fax and e-mail contact arrangements remain the same.
