Man's jaw broken in late night assault in Burgess Hill

A 21 year old man suffered a broken jaw in an incident in Burgess Hill, police say.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened outside Pulse 2 around 3am on Sunday March 20.

A statement from Sussex Police said: “The victim, a 21-year-old local man, was stood outside the bar near the Martlets Shopping Centre at around 3am when he was punched to the floor by a man he did not know.

“He was taken to hospital with a broken jaw.”

The suspect is described as white, in his thirties, about 6’3” and of stocky build with short dark hair. He was wearing dark clothing.

DC Andrew Robinson said: “This assault happened as the club was closing so we believe there would have been quite a few people in the area.

“Any witnesses are asked to email [email protected] or call 101 quoting reference 996 of 20/03.”
