The appeal will be heard by a judge at Chichester Crown Court tomorrow (Tuesday, February 12).

The accident involved a Citroen Saxo car and a Triumph motorbike which were in collision at the junction of Beach Road and Irvine Road, Littlehampton, at around 10.50am.

After the crash it's thought the motorcycle then mounted the pavement, colliding with the three pedestrians, a six-year-old boy and his mother, from Lancing, and a 42-year-old man from Worthing.

Two air ambulances took the male pedestrian and the motorcyclist, aged 57 and from Worthing, to Southampton General Hospital and Worthing Hospital, respectively.

The Saxo driver was not injured.

The boy, who suffered a broken leg, and his mother, who sustained head and leg injuries, were today still being treated at St Richard's Hospital, Chichester.

Officers from the Road Policing Unit at Chichester, are investigating the crash and its aftermath and are grateful to people who have come forward already to assist in this investigation.

They continue to appeal for any further witnesses to contact Sussex Police on 0845 6070999, quoting Operation Durrow.
