Man airlfted to hospital after Littlehampton road crash

A MAN is in a critical condition following a car crash that left him needing surgery by the side of the road.

In all, four men in their 20s were injured when a Nissan Micra they were travelling in collided with a tree in Ferry Lane, Littlehampton, just before 8pm yesterday (Tuesday, June 15).

Volunteers with SIMCAS (South Coast Immediate Care Scheme), said that a man, believed to be about 25, had suffered injuries, so severe that Dr John Chatterjee had to administer an anaesthetic and perform emergency chest surgery at the scene.
