SOUTH MALLING CHURCH: (One of the Trinity Churches). Last Sunday’s Family Service ended with children who had spent their Sunday school time outside, looking for signs of spring, telling the rest of the congregation what they had seen, lots of different spring flowers, daffodils, primroses, snowdrops with slow worms, grass snakes, butterflies and lots of insects. They had been outside with David Melville from Southover, their sister church, and Chris Burt who leads the volunteers who work with Sussex Wildlife, ensuring that South Malling is a model of good green churchyard management. It was an opportunity for the congregation to thank Chris, in particular, for his excellent work with a hearty and well-deserved round of applause. This week Revd Steve Daughtery, the Vicar of the three Trinity Churches, will be speaking about Green issues and leading Holy Communion. The service starts at 9.30am and all are welcome.
