Lottery grant
A £9,800 Awards for All lottery grant has been made to the Arun University of The Third Age. Arun U3A has some 600 retired or semi-retired members.
They enjoy 55 interest activity groups which range from art, poetry and languages to gardening, walking, theatre going, card games and Scrabble. More details on 01903 772425.
The grant will be divided between additional outreach, helping members become more confident using computers and the purchase of modern projection kits. The projection kits will help group leaders train new ones and also to run DVD or slide show based courses for small groups in people's homes or in sheltered accommodation communal rooms and village halls.
