Littlehampton’s Natasha bids for carnival contest triumph

NATASHA Stemp has her eyes on the prize as she bids to win this year’s Littlehampton Carnival Queen competition.

This is the first time the Littlehampton Academy student has entered the race to be crowned the town’s new “royal” at this year’s summer spectacular, in July.

And the 16-year-old certainly feels confident she could handle the role, despite her inexperience.

Speaking to the Gazette, her mum Diana said: “She is a lovely girl who is outgoing and will do anything for her friends.

“She loves school and her confidence has just grown and grown.”

Currently studying for her GCSEs, with ambitions of becoming a veterinary nurse, Natasha enjoys spending time with friends and listening to music – particularly the urban rifts of English rapper Professor Green.

Whoever wins this year’s Carnival Queen competition will have the honour of representing their town not only on carnival day itself, but at other events both in Littlehampton and further afield.

The queen and her two princesses can also look forward to fabulous costumes and cash prizes.

Entries can be on the official form on this page of the Littlehampton Gazette, or in subsequent issues up to the closing date of Thursday, February 21, with judging on Sunday, March 3, by a panel appointed by Littlehampton Carnival Association.
