Little Common supports Macmillan Cancer Support

AN EARLY Macmillan coffee morning met with a great response in Little Common.

Holiday commitments meant Surekah Patel and husband Dilip, proprietors of the Spar shop on Cowdray Park Road, decided to hold the annual event for Macmillan Cancer Support on Sunday rather than later in the year on the charity's 'official' fund raising day.

But that didn't prevent eager customers from sampling the tea, coffee and bacon sandwiches on offer.

Additional money was raised through a raffle and a competition to guess the number of jelly beans in a jar.

Surekah said: "It raises funds and brings people together. It is our way of giving something back to the community.

"The response has been fantastic and we have been lucky to have good weather today.

"Most of the people are regular customers and it's nice to have their support."
