Jurors in Wragg case sent home for night

Jurors in the trial of Andrew Wragg, who is accused of murdering his 10-year-old terminally ill son, have been sent home for the evening.

The former SAS soldier, 37, of Henty Close, Worthing, denies murder but admits manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility.

He claims "abnormality of mind" in the case at Lewes Crown Court.

Jacob, who suffered from Hunter Syndrome, was suffocated with a pillow at the family home on July 24.

The prosecution said Wragg acted selfishly as he could not cope with his son's illness, but the defence argued it was a mercy killing.

The jurors retired at 11am on Wednesday to consider their verdict.
