Homes under threat
On Monday it unveiled a new draft strategy to manage flood and erosion risks to homes and property along part of the worst affected part of the coastline '“ along the Arun to Pagham stretch.
With the climate changing, sea levels rising and more frequent and intense storms, flood defences are under increasing threat from the elements.

Hide Ad"If existing defences are not maintained between the Arun and Pagham, more than 530 properties in low lying areas could flood or be lost to erosion from a one in 200 chance event. With rising sea levels, this number could increase to 3,024 in the next 100 years," said a report.
