Help charity fund book showing images of apes

Horsham-based charity Born Free along with Wildlife Photographers United are delighted to announce the launch of a new Kickstarter campaign to fund a breath-taking new coffee table book showcasing extraordinary images of gorillas, chimpanzees, orangutans and bonobos.

‘Remembering Great Apes’ will feature work by more than 50 of the world’s top wildlife photographers, including Art Wolfe, Frans Lanting and Martyn Colbeck.

Legendary primatologist Dame Jane Goodall will write the foreword for this incredible new book, and renowned great ape expert and Born Free wildlife consultant, Ian Redmond OBE, will edit the text.

Much-loved actress and Born Free co-founder, Virginia McKenna OBE will co-sign certificates with Jane Goodall, for the 50 very special limited edition books.

Remembering Great Apes follows the incredible success of Remembering Rhinos, and Remembering Elephants, which have raised an astonishing £300,000 to date for Born Free’s vital conservation work.

The new book will only be possible through generous public support, and will be funded by a Kickstarter campaign, which launched on Friday February 23.

Support for the project is vital to ensure that the book goes ahead, and there are a number of special incentives and rewards for those who pledge money through the Kickstarter campaign, whether that’s £5 or £3,000 (the cost of the number one limited edition). The Kickstarter campaign will allow supporters to pre-order a copy of Remembering Great Apes, and fund the creation of this highly collectible publication.

Pre-ordered books cost £40 each (RRP £45) plus postage.

Remembering Wildlife founder, wildlife photographer Margot Raggett, said: “I have been completely overwhelmed by how many people have embraced and supported the Remembering Wildlife book series and utterly thrilled at how that has translated into such considerable funds raised for conservation projects.
