The bride’s father, Paul Holmes walked the bride down the aisle followed by six bridesmaids (Miryam Farrell, Lisa Holmes, Heather Wright, Hayley Voice, Laura Dale and Amy Rodbard).

The groom had five groomsmen all wearing charcoal tails and pink socks (Jim Hutchings, Niki Parr, Chris Wright, Steve Taylor, Tom Mulligan) and a Page Boy, the couple’s nephew Campbell Dunkley.

The Bride made her entrance to Pachelbel’s Canon with the groom’s sister, Nicole Lyons accompanying the organist on the trumpet.

The service was led by Rev’d Richard Coldicott.

The couple continued a family tradition by hiring a lucky Chimney Sweep complete with black cat as a surprise for guests and especially for the bride’s mother as they left the church, just as Sophie’s parents, grandparents and great-grandparents had done.

The newlyweds travelled in style in a white 1960 Chevrolet Bel Air to their reception, while 100 day guests travelled down in an old fashioned London Route master complete with conductor, to Pangdean Barn in Pyecombe with its amazing views over the South Downs.

The wedding breakfast was a feast of local sausages and mash followed by delicious chocolate brownies.

The evening ended on a high with a sparkler lined exit.

The couple flew off on their honeymoon to Mexico shortly afterwards.
