* a 'living roof' consisting of a sedum roof covering to blend in with the surrounding trees and hedges

* a curved roof designed to operate via solar energy during the winter

* a super-insulated building fabric to reduce heating demand

* a small biomass woodchip boiler which would provide hot water to heat an underfloor heating system. The system would only be needed in the winter

* a high degree of thermal mass in the floor and internal walls. The floor would be an insulated concrete slab incorporating an underfloor heating matrix

* passive solar hot water collectors on the south edge of the roof which would be part of the roof design

* ten metres square of photovoltaic solar panels to generate electrical energy to charge 12-volt batteries needed for Greenpower's electric cars.
