Grateful ATC back-packers invited back by Tesco

MEMBERS of No. 2263 (Bexhill) Squadron, Air Training Corps so impressed staff at Tesco's Ravenside store with their recent bag-packing event that they have been invited back.

The ATC cadets made 1,700 over two days for new training equipment for the squadron with the recent bag-packing event.

Tesco's in the past have not allowed youth organisations to raise money in this way due to central policy, however the policy has recently been relaxed and the decision has been left with the store managers.

Following the required training in manual lifting and the correct way to pack bags, the cadets were welcomed to the store by the manager.

Now the officer commanding the squadron, Flight Lieutenant Andy Izzard has publicly thanked the store manager and staff for their supports and hospitality and acknowledged the generosity of customers who kindly donated to the cause.

Flight Lieutenant Izzard said this week that it was right to thank the company publicly for its cooperation.

"I feel that it is very important to show that leading companies are supporting local organisations and helping to promote the Air Training Corp and all the benefits that it can bring to young citizens.

"The event was very successful and many comments of praise were given. Bexhill 2262 Squadron have been invited back to Tesco for a Christmas bag-packing event."
