Glorious Sedlescombe Summer Fayre

July 16 was a glorious day in Sedlescombe with a fayre day to remember. There was a vintage car parade to start the proceedings. The Sedlescombe and District Gardening Society summer show had a good turn out of entries in their marquee with lots of certificates and cups awarded later in the afternoon after the judging had taken place.

“Village groups including Sedlescombe Green WI, Sedlescombe Flower club, St John the Baptist Parish church, Sedlescombe village hall, Sedlescombe Players, Sedlescombe Parish Council, Sedlescombe Wine Club, Sedlescombe Rangers, Sedlescombe Youth club, Sedlescombe cricket club and Sedlescombe Golf club, K9 rescue remedy, local artists alongside local crafts and businesses all took part and there was the the opportunity to meet up and learn about the many varied activities there are in the area. It was lovely to see so many families enjoying the day in the sun - the Queens Head bar with its Pimms tent was very popular along with countless cups of tea being served out of the pavilion by the Friends of the church volunteers.”

One of the Sedlescombe geese made a star appearance twice this year at the beginning and at the end of the day. The first “drop” was won by square E10 owned by Sally Sidgewick, the second drop later in the day was run by the Round table. Loose Ends provided live music throughout the afternoon performing around the refreshment area, it was so nice to see family, friends and neighbours meeting and enjoying the afternoon
