Volunteers from the Findon Valley Residents’ Association received a grant of £1,600 for materials and teamed up with the West Sussex County Council Community Solutions Team to build the wooden shelter opposite Downside Avenue.
Maggie Winter, chairman of the association, said: “It was a much-needed bus shelter with more and more rain these days. It has encouraged people to use the bus. Especially elderly residents who live nearby.”

Maggie added: “We thank our WSCC councillor, John Rogers, who wholeheartedly supported this project, and Darren’s team for their hard work and enthusiasm.”
Due to a lack of council funding, the shelter is owned by the community so needs volunteers for maintenance. Visit the Residents Association for more information on: www.findonvalley.org
