Fund-raising at Wick flower shop was ‘fantastic’

STAFF at a Littlehampton flower shop were delighted to raise even more from their Christmas Event this year than they did in 2010.

The day-long event was “very successful”, according to owner Michelle Bly, and made £480 for St Barnabas House hospice.

“This was slightly up on last year, which is fantastic,” she added.

“The raffle and other competitions went down very well, with lots of people winning a prize of some sort and enjoying a coffee and mince pie.”

The event followed a Christmas Workshop held by the shop last month, in Wick Hall, which was also very well supported.

Everyone who attended made a classic candle arrangement and a Christmas decoration.

Michelle said: “An enjoyable evening was had by all, with many learning some new skills.

“We also held a raffle on this evening and raised £90 for the Wick Information Centre, which offers so much to the community in Wick.

“I would like to give a very big thank-you to everyone who attended either event and to my staff and friends who helped to make it possible. It is great that we can bring some community spirit into Wick and raise such amazing amounts of money for local charities.”
