Friends of St Jude's Women's Refuge tea

THE TRADITIONAL English combination of strawberries and tea proved a winner for the Friends of St Jude's Women's Refuge on Saturday.

Held in the picturesque garden of Lolesworth Cottage, Old Town, guests enjoyed plenty of strawberry cream teas to go with the tombola and cake stall.

Chairman of the friends Philipa Coughlan said: "Our thanks go to our hosts, who once again allowed us to spend a lovely and, on this occasion dry, afternoon tea in their lovely garden. The 200.60 raised at the event will go towards helping with extra items so needed by the families at St Jude's."
