Ford prison inquiry after inmate takes documents from office

Inquiries are ongoing at Ford open prison after it was revealed an inmate removed documents from an office.

They were taken from a disused room used to store musical equipment and the papers had been found after a prisoner involved in an internal security matter had his cell searched.

A prison-wide search was launched after the documents were discovered, along with a quantity of contraband alcohol.

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Justice said: "We take the protection of data very seriously. An investigation is under way and a full search of the prison has been conducted."
