FORD ECO-TOWN: Proposals at centre of the debate

Ford Airfield Vision Group '“ covers 360 hectares and is located immediately to the east and north of Yapton and to the north of Climping and Ford.

It has two areas of housing, with the gap between them filled by the sewage works, runways and industrial development.

A new village square is included with retail uses. A new secondary school and two primary schools are also proposed. The promoters are the landowners and housebuilders Wates and Redrow.

The Ford Enterprise Hub scheme '“ put forward by three individuals '“ is based around a new science or technology park, a new Parkway railway station, a new link road between the A259 and A27 and expanded marina facilities.
