The town sadly missed out on being awarded a prestigious Blue Flag award.

The Blue Flag’s absence was due to last year’s non-stop wet weather and a change in the rules for the water quality standard.

The EU made it harder to qualify for the flag by insisting on water quality being measured over a four year average.
