Firefighters called to tackle fire on Bognor Regis Pier.

Firefighters were called to Bognor Regis Pier yesterday (August 9) after a fire broke out.

Two fire crews attended the blaze which started in a single storey store room at 3.35pm.

Firefighters spent some 50 minutes at the scene and used two breathing apparatuses, and a ladder to tackle the flames.

The 10x20m structure was damaged by heat and smoke.

The police were also in attendance, and the fire is believed to have been started deliberately.
