Festive greenery creations at Hassocks nursery

It’s all hands-on-deck to create hundreds of festive wreaths every week in the corner of a busy family-run Sussex nursery.

Talented staff are preparing to make up to a thousand Christmas garlands this year at South Downs Nurseries in Hassocks.

Led by plant manager Kelly Loughlin, who alone has over five-years’ experience, the team included of Steph Wickenden who’s been creating wreaths for over 15 years as has Steph Ellett.

Most of the foliage is grown and harvested locally, and the experienced team swiftly create the piles of vegetation into long-lasting attractive wreaths.

People like the traditional-looking wreath for their front door”, says Rebecca Houghton-Knapp from the Brighton Road nurseries. “We are kept busy right up to Christmas Eve making wreaths of different sizes to accommodate everyone’s needs.”
