THE title may be ‘Is There Anybody There’ but one Littlehampton theatre group is hoping there will be plenty of people packing in to watch its 50th show.

The curtains on Stage-Door Theatre Company’s latest production will be lifting on Wednesday.

However, in spite of the group’s impressive milestone, play director Tony Makey said it would be ‘business as usual’.

“We have been doing this for years,” he said. “This play took a lot of work; three months of hard graft for the director as I have to be there every night.

“But we’re really looking forward to it.”

Is There Anybody There, by Ian Hornby, is a comedic farce.

It follows the tale of Lady Amelia (Anne Anderson) as she searches for new ideas for her latest mystery novel.

“It’s got a bit of a theme about it – people being shot,” added Tony, who kept the play’s winding ‘Agatha Christie-style’ plot close to his chest.

The show will feature performances from Jamie Griffiths, Dave Humphrey, Fiona Humphrey and Brenda Hargreaves.

Performances take place from Wednesday to Saturday, April 18, at the Windmill Entertainment Centre, from 7.30pm. For tickets, call 01903 856801.
