A huge pile of field beans on the grain shed floor spells out the last of the harvest. John had brought in a contractor rather than use and absue our own combine.

Harvesting field beans can be a tough job and not worth risking an expensive repair job on our own machine at the very end of the season. Yesterday was quite a day.

Contractors were in to bale the last of the wheat straw. John got drilled up on another field of corn, Geoff worked behind the straw contractors to bring the bales home, the giant combine remorselessly gathered in the beans before and chopped up the stalks behind and I was back up for loading beans. All systems go.
