The contract extends the licensing hours to allow the building to be used for social events on Friday and Saturday evenings. It also permits the building of a skate park, senior, junior and mini football pitches, and a multi-use games area marked out for tennis.

Bolnore Village residents have welcomed the news of the latest step in bringing forward the Bolnore Village Community Centre. In October the District Council resolved to give future management of the centre to the Bolnore Village Community Partnership.

Alastair McPherson, Chairman of Bolnore Village Community Partnership, commented: “This latest step in the creation of the Bolnore Village Community Centre is great news. The centre is set to become an important hub not only for the community of Bolnore Village but also for the residents of Haywards Heath.

“We’re continuing to work with the community to ensure the centre caters for a broad range of requirements and becomes a real focal point for residents.”

Iain McPherson, Managing Director, Crest Nicholson South, said: “We’re delighted that plans for the Community Centre are moving forward apace. We continue to be absolutely committed to creating a thriving community here at Bolnore Village and we’re looking forward to seeing the positive effects the community centre will have for local people.”

Councillor Pru Moore, Mid Sussex District Council Cabinet Member for Leisure and Sustainability, commented: “We have consulted closely with local residents to make sure our plans for this new community building meet their requirements and will provide an excellent mix of sport and leisure facilities.

“The Bolnore Village community has taken such a proactive role in the design and management of this new sports and community building. The input they have provided has been invaluable and has helped us to design a spectacular leisure facility that I’m sure will bring a great deal of enjoyment to local people for many years to come.

“We already have planning permission for this exciting scheme and, now the contract has been signed, work will be starting on site in the next two weeks.”

Bolnore Village is a collection of one and two-bedroom apartments and two, three and four-bedroom houses. In the current phase, four-bedroom houses are available from £449,950. Five-bedroom houses are also available at Hart’s Wood at Bolnore Village, from £924,950.

Future residents at Bolnore Village will be able to enjoy the benefits of the new leisure facilities and the local primary school outlined above.
