A century on and polecats are back

The polecat, which has been extinct in Sussex for 200 years, is back.

Four sightings of polecats in the county during the past two years have been reported to the Sussex Wildlife Trust. Three followed road kill,but a live sighting was recorded last November in West Marden near the Sussex/Hampshire border.
