East Preston man in court over £250,000 cocaine bust

AN EAST Preston man has appeared in court in connection with a £250,000 cocaine bust.

Sixty-four-year-old Barry Harlow, of Arlington Crescent, was one of three men arrested when police swooped on two cars in the car park of the Cottesmore Golf and Country Club, in Pease Pottage, on Friday (April 1).

Sussex police’s Serious and Organised Crime Unit officers seized high purity cocaine, with an estimated street value of £250,000, as well as a large quantity of cash.

A police spokesman said that detectives then went to a business unit, at nearby White Herons Farm, Colgate, where they found equipment used to cut and prepare the drug for distribution, and arrested three more men.

Harlow, as well as Lee Burton-Asante, 43, of no fixed address, Albert Mouhtiseb, 27, from Croydon, Darren Henwood, 36, of Feygate, Andrew Billings, 31, of Cuckfield, and Charles Smith, 40, of Bracklesham Bay, appeared at Crawley Magistrates’ Court today (Monday, April 4) charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.
