The council has also agreed a comprehensive transport package to include an A264 to A22 relief road, formed of links from the A264 at Doves Barn Nurseries to Gullege, around the proposed new development to Turners Hill Road and to the A22 at Brambletye Bends.

Councillor Gordon Marples, Leader of Mid Sussex District Council, said: "This is an important stage in the preparation of a submission document for the council to consider in October.

"The proposed strategic development at East Grinstead has without doubt been controversial and has generated a significant level of involvement and input from interested parties.
