DIY decorations

TEACHERS, parents and children dedicated a day last week to making Christmas decorations to transform their school into a festive paradise.

The operation was planned down to the last miniscule detail, according to the head teacher of Rocks Park Primary School, Uckfield, Mrs Jane Andrews.

Teachers had an army of 50 parents to tackle the work along with the children.

'It was brilliant teamwork and great fun' said Mrs Andrews. 'And by the end of the day our school was completely decorated ready for Christmas.'

Just days after the school was transformed the Friends of the School Association held a Christmas fair on Saturday and raised about 1,500 towards the fund to provide service for the new pavilion in the school grounds. It is hoped the building will be available for community use in due course.
