Demolition plan for former care home in Lancing

A FORMER care home for the disabled in Lancing could be knocked down and 26 new homes built on the site.

A planning application has been submitted to Adur District Council from West Sussex County Council, which wants planning permission to knock down St Giles Home in Elm Grove and dispose of the land to build the new homes.

The proposed development includes a two and half storey block of four one-bedroom and seven two-bedroom flats, and nine three-bedroom and six two-bedroom houses.

Three of the nine affordable homes would be allocated for shared ownership and six, which includes three, three-bedroom houses, would be for social renting.

The plans are available to view at the Help Point, Adur District Council, Ham Road, Shoreham, BN43 6PR.
