‘Pampas grass thief’ strikes again in Horsham

A number of residents have reported that the plumes of their plants have been snipped off.
Gardens in Horsham and Southwater have been targeted.
And in the latest attack, the thief broke a garden fence, as well as stealing around 15 plumes of pampas.

Hide AdThe Horsham owner, who does not want to be named, said: “The ironic thing is if he’d knocked on the door I would have happily given them to him.
“We can’t stand the stuff. It was here when we moved in.”
But the incident was reported to police. A spokesman said: “We received a report of criminal damage at a property in Horsham.
“A garden fence had been damaged and a number of stems of pampas grass appear to have been cut overnight.”
It is not known why the grasses are being stolen but the plumes are popular with flower arrangers and craft workers.
