Man ‘wearing ghost mask’ brandishes knife in St Leonards

A man has been charged with knife possession following an incident in St Leonards, according to police.

On 9 April, police received report of a man wearing a ghost mask brandishing a knife at staff inside a kebab shop as he walked past with two dogs the previous evening, police said.

A suspect was identified through CCTV from the kebab shop and police arrested and charged a man, according to a police spokesman.

Sussex Police said: “Aaron Nicolaou, 32, of Battle Road, has been charged with possession of a knife/bladed/pointed article in a public place.

“He was also charged with assault and criminal damage in connection with a separate domestic incident in St Leonards on 4 May.

“He has been remanded in custody and is due in court on Thursday (May 7).”
