Littlehampton man beaten in attempted robbery

THUGS who beat a man in Littlehampton and attempted to rob him are now being hunted by police.

The 20-year-old victim was walking down Wick Farm Road at around 10pm on Sunday (September 11) when he was approached by three men, believed to be in their late teens.

One demanded he hand over his phone and money. The victim was then punched in the face and then hit with a what is believed to be a baseball bat, before the men ran off empty handed.

The injured man was treated at the scene by paramedics for a cut to the face.

PC Michelle Towle said: “This is a serious offence that has left the victim very shocked.

“Police are currently viewing CCTV and speaking to people in the area as part of the ongoing investigation. “I’d urge anyone who may have seen three teenagers or young men behaving suspiciously in the area to contact police immediately.”

The first suspect is described as approximately 18-years-old, white, slim build, 5’11, gaunt face with bushy eyebrows and jet black hair, wearing a black hooded jumper.

The second suspect is described as white, under 5’11, slim, pale complexion, wearing a blue hooded jumper.

The third suspect is described as 5’6, really skinny, wearing a black hood tightly drawn around the face and black clothing.
