Burglary roundup: Man pushes past Eastbourne homeowners and steals cash from inside

A man broke into an Eastbourne property and stole cash from inside after pushing past the homeowners when they opened the door to him.

Police said the incident happened in broad daylight on Friday (July 10) in Etchingham Road. The burglar was a skinny white man, police said.

Sussex Police have reported three other recent burglaries in the town.

Officers said bank cards, cash and keys were stolen from a property off Rosebery Avenue in the afternoon of July 14 after suspects broke in through an open window while the victims were outside.

A motorcycle was stolen from a property’s outdoor shed off Link Road overnight on July 11 and 12, according to police.

And in the small hours of July 13, police say, two bicycles were stolen from a secure shed at a property off Baldwin Avenue.

A Sussex Police spokesperson said, “If you have been the victim of a burglary, please report online, or by calling 101 – always dial 999 in an emergency/burglary in action.”
