Copper pipe theft in Felpham

Copper piping was stolen in a distraction theft in Felpham.

Two males approached a property in Davenport Road about 12.15pm on Thursday, December 8.

One of the males distracted a plumber who was working there while the other stole the piping.

The plumber then chased the men, stopped them and succeeded in recovered the piping.

The men, who were in a white Ford Transit van, are described as white, and aged in their late 20s and early 30s.

The van driver had two gold teeth and the passenger very short shaved hair.

Last month saw a substation in Shripney Lane broken into and cables and copper dislodged.

The floor was damaged but nothing was stolen.

A witness saw two males and one female in a white Ford Transit van who were parked in the road.

They told a questioner they had come to fix the fence.

Police are still investigating the crimes to find out if they are linked.

Overnight on December 5, a pond in the garden of a Crossbush Road home in Felpham had its pump damaged.

The pump’s valve was opened by an unknown person.
