Conquest is inadequate says report

The Conquest Hospital has been branded ‘inadequate’ in a damning report.

The report comes from health bosses from the three Clinical Commissioning Groups following a spot inspection last week.

The findings also apply to the DGH Hospital at Eastbourne.

Maternity services were singled out by the report, which claimed that mothers and babies were being put at risk due to procedures and the unit being ‘visibly dirty’

There were several cases of babies found not to be properly identified with tags.

Health campaigner Liz Walke said the local health Trust was failing local people.

Unions have said staff feel disengaged and have called for changes at the top,
