Concern over car site

CONCERN was expressed about the change of use of Crown Yard, Burwash Road, Heathfield, from a fencing contractors yard to an area for the display, sale, repairs and servicing of cars.

Members of Heathfield and Waldron Parish Council's highways, planning and street lighting committee, who met last week feared cars for sale would be parked too close to the road and near a dangerous junction and might distract passing drivers.

But Cllr Mike Woodhouse said he thought the plan would be a 'useful utilisation of that derelict piece of land' and fellow members agreed to offer cautious support but with some reservations when commenting to Wealden Council which will make a decision on the application.
