Professor Vukusic is a leading light on how colour is produced in many different animals, ranging from the iridescence of a blue butterfly to the camouflage of an octopus. Many of these examples are biological applications of Physics and students were shown the relevance of the theory studied in the classroom to the natural world.

Joe Brock (Head of Faculty for Mathematics and Science at Collyer’s) said: “Huge thanks to Professor Vukusic for his inspiring and technically brilliant lecture. The students absolutely loved it”

Professor Vukusic also went on to talk to a number of students about admissions at Exeter University and what they were looking for in terms of personal statements and experience in successful physics applicants.

Collyer’s Principal, Dr Jackie Johnston said: “We are incredibly proud of our faculty for mathematics and science and it has been our pleasure to have the opportunity to welcome Professor Vukusic to speak to our students”.
