Judges from the company toured the network over two days to decide on the winners of this year’s Stars and Tsars Awards.

The judges said: “Christ’s Hospital station was described as spotless and the impressive displays of flowers around the station continue to ensure that it has a friendly, welcoming feel for passengers.

“It was greatly enhanced by the new mural of the local school.”

Southern’s managing director, Chris Burchell said: “I’m proud of every one of our people who work hard to make every journey better for our passengers, and particularly those who show consistent on-going dedication to provide excellent customer service and facilities and who go the extra mile as it is they who are considered for these honours.

“It was a tough task for our judges as standards are very high across the network, but they left no stone unturned in their search for the best Southern has to offer.”

The team at the station received £1,000 to spend on something to benefit passengers at the station. They also received a cash prize to fund something to benefit the local team.
