Christmas donations

Thirty adults and 37 children around Bognor Regis enjoyed a brighter Christmas thanks to generous residents.

The seasonal collection by Bognor Regis Lions Club members outside the town centre Morrisons store raised more than 1,300. The total pleased the Lions in view of the cold and unpleasant weather.

Press officer Richard Johns said the cash bought goods which made the difference between a miserable and a happy time for those who received them.

'It is sometimes hard to realise that such need exists in our community. But we hope those who so kindly donated will know that the recipients were very grateful indeed.'
